Step - 01

To create a Surahi bowl, make tissue mâché. Take a bowl, add pieces of some tissue papers in it, some water and Fevicol A+. Mix it well until it becomes like dough.Make sure the tissue paper mâché is fine enough as shown in the image.

Step - 02

To create a bowl structure, take any plastic bowl available.

Step -03

Now put some moisturizer over the bowl and spread it evenly. Apply a layer of tissue mâché, make sure it’s taped uniformly. Using an ice cream stick, tap it lightly to get a smooth surface as shown in the image. Using Fevicol A+, apply a layer on it with Fine Art brushes and let it semi dry.Once semi dried, draw a simplified floral design on it with a barbeque stick and let it dry. Make sure you move the barbeque stick delicately to create the design.

Step - 04

Once dried, peel it off from the bowl.

Step - 05

Using Rangeela Tempera Colour Brown, paint it with Fine Art brushes to get the terracotta effect and let it dry.

Step - 06

Your handmade Surahi Bowl is ready!
