Steps to Create this Activity

1. Explore Our Planet – Prompts & Discussion

Begin with a short discussion about Earth and the environment. Ask guiding questions about caring for the planet.

2. Read-Aloud – Sharing a Shell

The teacher reads Julia Donaldson's Sharing a Shell. Pause at key moments to ask guiding questions.

3. Fold the Card

Fold the paper in half like a greeting card (portrait or landscape).

4. Design the Front Cover

Title: With a YUDU Brush Pen, write EARTH DAY in big, bubble letters. Banner or Speech Bubble: Add "We Share Our World!" Drawing: Sketch a large shell or Earth in the centre with pencil. Add the crab, anemone, and bristle worm from the story. Extra Images: Draw waves, hearts, plants, stars, animals, or recycling symbols with YUDU Gel Crayons.

5. Colour Your Drawing

Use YUDU Gel Crayons for bright, thoughtful colouring. Encourage: Blue/green for Earth Sea tones for water and shells Warm colours (red, orange, yellow) for kindness and connectionStudents blend the crayons in the Earth to make it smooth and the brush-with- water technique to give the crab a soft watercolour effect. 6. Inside the Card – Write a Message
