Pebble Team

Across time and place, sports connect people; in play, in competition, and in community. In this learning engagement, students will design a sports team using painted pebbles to represent players. Each student creates a team that reflects their identity, teamwork, or favorite sport. Together, we reflect on how sports create shared moments, build friendships, and bring cultures together around the world.

Steps to Create this Activity

1. Choose Your Favourite Team or Sport

Think about who is on the team! Collect smooth pebbles. Ask students guiding question such as: "What sport do you enjoy watching or playing?"

2. Paint each pebble like a player.

First, use YUDU Poster Colours paint to paint the shirt on the bottom half, then the face or hair on top. Let it dry.

3. Add team details.

Use pencil or YUDU Poster Colours paint to add numbers, symbols, and expressions. You can also use YUDU Brush Pens to highlight numbers on the jersey or add details like eyes and facial features.

4. Don’t forget the ball and pitch!

Paint one small pebble with YUDU Poster Colours paint to look like a football, rugby ball, or basketball. Use cardboard and YUDU Poster Colours paint to create your team's playing area.

5. Arrange your team.

Place the pebbles in position. If working in pairs, make two teams!

6. Label & Reflect

Write your team's name and create a team symbol or flag. Ask students guiding questions such as: "Why did you choose this team or sport?"

7. Create a Display

Set up the painted pitches and pebble players like mini stadiums or match scenes. Use display titles like: "The Teams That Bring Us Together"
