1. Explore the Artist
Begin by showing Wassily Kandinsky's Colour Study: Squares with Concentric Circles. Ask guiding questions to spark observation and discussion.
2. Choose and Roll Colours
Have each student choose 4-5 colours of YUDU Magic Clay. Roll each colour into a ball, from largest to smallest.
3. Create Layered Circles
Flatten the largest ball to form the base of their artwork. Place the next largest ball on top and gently flatten. Continue stacking and flattening each ball to form a layered concentric circle.
4. Make More
Invite students to create multiple circle compositions and arrange them in a grid.
5. Reflect and Share
Bring students together to reflect on their artistic choices.
6. Display the Artwork
Photograph each student's work for documentation. Create a group display called 'The Kandinsky Wall'.
