Prepare Your Textured Paper

Step - 01

Begin by gathering your tissue paper. Tear it into small pieces. In a bowl, mix these pieces with Fevicol MR and a little water until it forms a pulpy, sticky paper mache mixture. Now, add some purple colour to this mixture and mix it well until you have a lovely, purple-textured pulp.

Assemble the Backdrop

Step - 02

Take one corrugated sheet and cut it 8 x 11 inches using scissors.

Apply the mache

Step- 03

Spread a thin, even layer of your purple paper mache mixture all over one side of this corrugated sheet. Cover it evenly and let it dry.

Assemble the base materials

Step - 04

Take the corrugated sheet of the same 8 X 11 inches size. Cut a slit on one of the horizontal edges. Pick an ivory sheet and cut it into the same size using scissors. This slot should match the one you made in your base, allowing the backdrop to slide securely.

Cut the foam sheet

Step - 05

Take a pink foam sheet and draw a flower shape on it using pencils. Take the scissors and cut them out. Pick a Gold Zardozi and stick it on the borders of the pink flower cutout to decorate it using Fevicol MR.

Cut the flowers

Step - 06

Take your yellow chart paper. Draw and cut out three different sizes of flower shapes (one large, one medium, and one small). Stick them on each other using Fevicol MR. These will be layered on top of each other to create a lovely blooming effect.

Assemble the Backdrop Elements

Step - 07

Use Fevicol MR, securely stick your large pink glitter foam floral shape onto the center of your purple corrugated backdrop. Take the Fevicryl 3D Outliner Glitter Gold 401 and design stars on the backdrop. Let it dry for a while. Then, stick your layered yellow flower right on top of the pink foam flower. For a charming finish, attach a half-cut pearl to the very center of the yellow flower. Take the purple satin ribbon and stick it using Fevicol MR on the edges of the corrugated sheet for a finished look. Now, take those two smaller, triangular pink glitter foam cutouts and stick them onto the ivory-covered base, one on each side using Fevicol MR.

Final Look

Step - 08

Place the Ganesha idol in the center of the backdrop! This is how you can make an attractive looking yet easy backdrop for Ganesh Chaturthi.
