Draw the base

Take a corrugated cardboard sheet and use a pencil to draw traditional leaf shapes and elephant symbols over its surface.

Cutout the drawing

Use a pair of craft scissors or a safe cutter to carefully trace your outlines and cut out all the sketched leaves and elephants.

Paint the base

Grab your Fevicryl Carnival Kit and paint each of the cardboard cutouts evenly using festive background colors of your choice.

Paint the details

Use a thin paintbrush to paint intricate traditional motifs over the base with metallic shades to add fine details.

Insert the string

Prick a hole in each cutout, string a piece of jute thread through it, slide in decorative wooden beads, and knot it securely. Take the quilling strips to put on the corrugated cutouts for a clean finish.

Final look

Tie all individual hanging cutouts onto a long main jute string at equal intervals to complete your beautiful Dussehra Toran!
