DIY Pop-Up Balloon Card - New Years

Create a colourful New Year pop-up balloon card using painted paper balloons. This fun activity helps children learn simple pop-up card making while improving their cutting, folding, and assembly skills through a creative festive craft.

Steps to Create this Activity

Draw the Shapes

Draw balloons in different sizes on a white card sheet. Fold another white card sheet in half and draw a small rectangle along the centre fold to create the pop-up stand.

Paint the Balloons

Paint all the balloon shapes and the balloons on the card cover using Rangeela Tempera Pastel Colours. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Cut the Pieces

Carefully cut out all the painted balloon shapes using scissors. Cut along the marked rectangle on the folded card and fold the tab inward to create the pop-up stand.

Decorate the Card

Stick the coloured paper strips around the border of the card using Fevicol Glue Drops. Write "Happy New Year" on the front cover.

Create the Pop-up

Stick the smaller balloon cut-outs onto the pop-up stand using Fevicol Glue Drops. Stick black thread below each balloon to make the strings.

Decorate the Front Cover

Stick the larger balloon cut-outs onto the front cover using Fevicol Glue Drops. Arrange the balloons neatly and stick black thread below them to complete the design.

Finish the Card

Stick the buttons and sequins onto the balloons using Fevicol Glue Drops. Your colourful New Year Pop-Up Balloon Card is now ready to share with your loved ones.
