DIY Paper Shadow Box - Dussehra

Create a glowing shadow box inspired by the story of Dussehra using layered paper silhouettes. Children will learn about the festival while developing paper crafting skills and expressing their creativity by assembling a dramatic shadow scene.

Prepare the Base

Take the corrugated box and the gateway sheet. Fix the gateway sheet neatly inside the box to create the background for the shadow scene.

Draw the Designs

Draw the flame border on the orange chart paper. Draw the silhouettes of Lord Rama and Ravana on the black chart paper.

Cut the Shapes

Carefully cut out the flame border and all the silhouette pieces using child-safe scissors.

Decorate the Background

Cut a piece of Rangeela Printed Paper to fit inside the box and place it behind the gateway sheet to create a colourful glowing background.

Assemble the Shadow Scene

Stick the flame border and the silhouette cut-outs onto the gateway sheet using Fevicol Glue Drops. Arrange the pieces neatly to create the Dussehra scene.

Complete the Shadow Box

Fix the decorated gateway sheet inside the corrugated box using Fevicol Glue Drops.

Add the Light

Place an LED fairy light inside the shadow box and switch it on. Your glowing Dussehra Shadow Box is now ready to display.
