Prepare the Elements

Take an empty paper plate and place it aside as your main canvas.

Draw and cut

Take a white plain sheet and use a pencil to draw the desired shapes of flowers and leaves upon it. Cut out the flower and leaf shapes.

Paint the cutouts

Use Rangeela Tempera Pastel Colours to paint the flower and leaf cutouts. Paint a separate candy stick (which will act as the stem/planter) in a green or brown colour.

Paint the Landscape

Take the paper plate and use a thinner brush to paint a landscape scene. The scene should include sky, clouds, sun, grass, and a section of brown earth/roots.

Assemble the Planter

Take all the cutouts of the flowers and leaves and stick them one on top of the other using Fevicol MR. Once the cluster is formed, attach it firmly to the top of the candy stick (the stem).

Create the Slot

Using crafty scissors, cut a small lateral line/slot on the painted ‘land’ area of the paper plate, between the grass and the roots. This slot is where the candy stick will slide.

The Final Look

The candy stick (with the plant on top) can now slide back and forth in the slot, showing the plant growing or moving, making your interactive World Environment Day craft complete!
