Have you ever heard the click-clack sound of sticks during Navratri? Those are Dandiyas! Dandiyas are colourful sticks used to perform a fun, high-energy traditional dance called Garba during Navratri. They come in all sorts of bright styles and are mostly used in pairs. Today, instead of buying them, we are going to learn how to make our very own Dandiya sticks.

Roll the base

Think about how exciting it is to dance with your friends in bright traditional clothes during Navratri! What colours would make your dandiya sticks pop? Take your corrugated sheet, roll it up into a sturdy stick, and secure the edges neatly with Fevicol Glue Drops.

Paint the base

Use Fevicryl Carnival Pack and paint your rolled sticks with multiple bright colours of your choice. To give your sticks a festive look, paint them in some beautiful metallic shades too!

Decorate it your way

Take your favourite decorations like half-cut pearls, tiny mirrors, stone chains, golden cord, etc. Stick them all around your painted stick using Fevicol Glue Drops. Pass a piece of thread through the open end of your stick, slide on some golden beads, and fix a colourful pom-pom right at the end to make a pretty hanging tassel.

Craft the other pair

Let’s decorate the second stick. You can either make it match perfectly or mix up the embellishments to give it a completely different, unique look.
