Steps to Create this Activity

Step - 01

To create a paper bag using weaving technique, take a sheet of newspaper now cut out the sheet into half horizontally. With the help of pencil and scale draw vertical lines as shown keeping approximately 1 cm width from the top. Now cut them with scissors.

Step - 02

To create a mat using weaving technique, take coloured gateway sheets and chart papers cut them into strips with width of 1 cm approx.

Step - 03

Take a strip starting at the bottom of the paper, weave a paper strip over and under through your newspaper as shown. Make sure to stick the edges and let it dry. Now fold the remaining edges of the newspaper at the bottom as shown

Step - 04

Using Fevicol A+ stick the edges and the overlaps.

Step - 05

To create base for the paper bag, take white chart paper, draw 2 circles with the help of compass and pencil. Make sure that the circle’s diameter is measured according to the structure of weaving mat made.

Step - 06

Cut them with scissors.

Step - 07

Using fevicol A+, stick circles one on the inside and other on the outer base of structure made as shown and let it dry.

Step - 08

To create the holder, take sheet of newspaper and roll it into a flat coil. Stick the edges using Fevicol A+ and let it dry.

Step - 09

Using Fevicol A+, attach the holder and let it dry. Handmade paper bag is ready!
