Steps to Create this Activity

Step - 01

To create clay lantern, take four A4 size corrugated sheets now draw the frame with the width of 1” approx. . with the help of scale and pencil.

Step - 02

Cut them with scissors. Assemble the cut outs using Fevicol MR.

Step - 03

To décor the frame, take any 2- 3 shades clay stick of your choice roll it into a coil as shown.

Step - 04

To create marble effect, twirl those coils together as shown.

Step - 05

Mix it thoroughly create sphere with the help of your hands. Using rolling pin create an even slab as shown.

Step - 06

To pattern onto the slab, trace the template given onto a gateway sheet and place onto the clay slab or create any pattern of your choice.

Step - 07

With the help of paper cutter cut out the pattern forms as shown.

Step - 08

For durability and freshness of colours apply a layer of Fevicol MR on the completed slab. Similarly repeat the procedure for other three sides too.

Step - 09

Using Fevicol MR attach the slab onto the corrugated frame as shown and let it dry.

Step - 10

Assemble rest of the clay cut out on rest of the sides. Handmade clay lantern is ready!
