Butterfly Life Cycle

Witness the incredible transformation of a butterfly in 3D! This project uses colourful YUDU Magic Clay to sculpt the four distinct stages of a butterfly ‘s life. By arranging them on a circular base with directional arrows, students can easily understand the continuous flow of nature’s most famous cycle.

Assemble the Base

Take a square corrugated sheet and a black chart paper of the same size.

Cut the base in circle

Use a compass or a large plate to draw a circle with an 11-inch diameter. Carefully cut it out with scissors. Cover this circular base entirely with black chart paper using Fevicol MR.

Assemble the clay

Take your YUDU Magic Clay and begin sculpting the four stages.

Sculpt the clay

Roll tiny white balls for the Eggs, a striped worm shape for the Caterpillar, a teardrop shape for the Chrysalis or Pupa, and a vibrant Butterfly with detailed wings.

Stick the clay on base

Stick the four clay models in a clockwise circle on the black base using Fevicol MR. Add stage labels on paper strips and complete the cycle with pink chart paper arrows.
