Prepare the Cardboard Pieces

Cut the corrugated cardboard into the base, support, beam, circles and side pieces as shown. Keep all the pieces ready for assembly.

Paint and Decorate

Paint all the cardboard pieces using Rangeela Tempera Pastel Colours. Decorate the centre support with an underwater theme and allow everything to dry completely.

Make the Hanging Trays

Punch small holes around the plastic containers and tie cotton strings through them to create two hanging trays of equal length.

Arrange the Parts

Place the painted beam, support, hanging trays and other components together. Fill the trays with beads or small counters for balancing activities.

Assemble the Balance Scale

Stick the centre support onto the base using Fevicol MR. Insert the Toothpick through the beam and centre support, then attach the circular cardboard pieces on both sides to complete the pivot.

Test the Balance

Hang the trays on both ends of the beam and place different numbers of beads in each tray to compare their weights. Your colourful Algebra Balance Scale is now ready for learning and play!
