Steps to Create this Activity

Cut the corrugated sheet

Cut and prepare a thin 4-5 inch corrugated cardboard sheet to form your counting tubes.

Form the hollow roll

Roll the sheet and glue the ends firmly with Fevicol MR to create a smooth hollow cylinder.

Gather the base

Gather your recycled items: a large main box, three matchboxes, and an open base tray.

Create Slotted Windows

Cut the front panels of the three empty matchboxes to form neat, open U-shaped windows.

Roll the pillars

Roll two long hollow tubes and two tightly coiled, closed rolls for stable base feet. Gather two holders of the matchboxes.

Assemble the Structure

You can start sticking with two matchboxes on the top frame with a holder in the center for the (+) symbol; two hollow rolls in the front with a box for the (=) symbol; and one matchbox tray to collect everything in the front at the bottom.

Colour and Calculate

Paint the box with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours, slide in your math equation chits or drop marbles to count! You are all set to make your maths addition learning activity easy and fun!
