Steps to Create this Activity

Step - 01

To create a phulkari fan, take a corrugated sheet and any coloured felt sheet, now draw the and cut diagram referring to the template given.

Step - 02

Using Fevicol A+, cover the corrugated cut-out with foam cut-outs back and forth and let it dry.

Step - 03

To cover the corrugated cut-out and create motifs over it, take coloured foam sheets of your choice and draw the diagram referring to the template given.

Step - 04

Cut out the motifs with scissors.

Step - 05

Using Fevicol A+, stick and arrange the motifs onto the fan as shown and let it dry.

Step - 06

To create fan frills, take any coloured felt sheet of your choice and cut out strips measuring 1” width approximately.

Step - 07

Using your hands, create frills, by pinching and sticking one flap over the other as shown in the image.

Step - 08

To create a fan holder, take a newspaper sheet and roll it into a coil; stick the edges using Fevicol A+.

Step - 09

Now cover the coil using foam sheet and attach it to the fan using Fevicol A+.

Step - 10

Using Fevicol A+, stick fan holder and the frills below in alignment to one another as shown in the image and let it dry.

Step - 11

To create a fan holder, take a newspaper sheet and roll it into a coil; stick the edges using Fevicol A+. Now cover the coil using foam sheet and attach it to the fan using Fevicol A+. To enhance the fan further, decorate the motifs using Fevicrly 3D Outliners. Create patterns as shown and stick coloured ornamental stones randomly. Now stick glitter pipe cleaner onto the edges of the fan as shown and let it dry. Your handmade Phulkari fan is ready!
