Take an upcycled plastic bag

Step - 01

To create a Holi table mat, take an upcycled plastic bag and measure it to A4 size.

Make markings from the folding edge and create wavy lines

Step - 02

Fold it in half. Referring to the image, make markings from the folding edge and create wavy lines as shown with the help of a felt pen.

Cut wavy lines using scissors.

Cut along the marked wavy lines using scissors.

Cut out wavy strands using contrasting colored plastic

Step - 04

Similarly, cut out wavy strands using contrasting colored plastic that is available.

Take one plastic strip and weave it across the slits going over and under alternately.

Step - 05

Take one plastic strip and weave it across the slits, going over and under alternately. Move the woven strip to the top, then start with the next one. Weave the second strip in the opposite pattern to the first. If your first strip went over and under the slits, the second strip should go under and over the slits, as shown in the image.

Carefully flip the mat and stick the edges inwards.

Carefully flip the mat and stick the edges inwards using Fevicol MR. Allow it to dry. Your handmade Holi Mat is ready!
